Simply dispose of food waste into the Vuala system and let the technology handle the rest. The system automatically processes food waste using Vuala's proprietary digestion technology, which acts as an artificial stomach, breaking down organic material into a stable liquid slurry.
Along the way, the system automates many of the manual tasks traditionally associated with food waste management, including lifting, weighing, tipping, emptying, and refreshing food waste containers. It also automatically separates common contaminants such as plastic film, packaging, bin liners, disposable cutlery, and other non-food items that may accidentally enter the waste stream.
The treated food waste is transferred directly into a sealed 1,000-litre storage tank, allowing it to be stored safely and odour-free for extended periods. This significantly reduces collection frequency, lowers transportation costs, and minimises operational disruption.
Once collected, the treated food waste is supplied to energy recovery facilities where it is converted into renewable energy, helping power homes and businesses across the United Kingdom while supporting a more sustainable circular economy.
